A Note of Thanks from the Deacons

Last weekend was an important one in the life of our Congregation.

On Saturday October 24th MacNeill hosted the Fall meeting of ‘The Gathering of Baptists’, an inspiring and stimulating day-long symposium, in which the future evolution of the church was

explored from a variety of perspectives.

On Sunday October 25, MacNeill celebrated our 96th Anniversary. Our anniversary preacher was Dr. Brian Henderson, Executive Director AWAB who was also a presenter at ‘The Gathering’.

The Deacons would like to extend a very heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered their help and presence during the Gathering of the Baptists Symposium – to those who set up the chairs and tables, those who baked muffins, cookies & cakes, those who coordinated the serving of the lunch, those who helped to serve the lunch, those who managed and served the two coffee/tea breaks, those who did the dishes and the kitchen clean-up, and those who did the ‘set-down’ at the end of day, those who supported the online hosting of the whole day. The contributions of all of you made this a very memorable day for our brothers and sisters of ‘The Gathering’.

Combined with our 96th Anniversary Celebration, the whole weekend was rich in inspiration and challenge.
