In particular, here is a link from the Lifeline Syria website with a video of a public information session recently held in Oakville for groups interested in sponsoring refugees.  Below the video is the slide show that is referenced in the video.  To bypass the introductions, the meat of the talk begins around 8 min.  The handout referred to in the video is available in pdf form on the bottom of the page along with a helpful guide for costing a sponsorship.  This is quite a long video, but there is a lot of useful information stated, so you would be well advised to take the time to listen to it.
