A Mountain Trail
A mountain trail’s a rocky place
Persistence on slopes is a challenge we take,
Following life’s steep treacherous bends
As prayers to God from us ascend.
Uncertainty, our footing slides
While focused on the other side,
A brighter day, a level path
Emerging through clouds overcast.
An ever-present hope to find
Most dangerous pathways left behind,
Reaching the summit an amazing thrill,
The eagle sores; a piercing peal.
