Enter the River and be Changed
Jesus said, I am the river,
let my waves wash over you,
let my currents swiftly claim you,
let my waters set you free.
Jesus said, I am the green pools.
Rest within their waters still,
dangers past and sin forgiven,
all your emptiness I’ll fill.
Jesus said, the Jordan drew me
when my calling was unclear;
strong hands lowered and then raised me
and I heard a voice so near:
“let my life flow freely through you,
O my Chosen One, my Son,
let the waters break and bless you
‘til your work on earth be done.”
Jesus said, come enter deeply,
let the healing river flow;
I will hold you and enfold you
and will never let you go.
I will be your boat and take you
through the shoals of sorrows past;
from your fear of death I’ll bring you
into healing pools at last.
