Holy Week Worship Services
Maundy Thursday: St Cuthbert’s, 2 Bond St N, Thurs April 6 at 7 pm
Cross Walk: begin at St Cuthbert’s at 9:30. We will walk, carrying a full-sized cross, making stops at Westdale United and St Paul’s Anglican, completing the pilgrimage at MacNeill.
Good Friday: MacNeill Baptist, Friday April 7 ay 10:30 am
Easter Sunday: MacNeill Baptist, Sunday April 9 at 11 am.
PAVING THE PATH
Large Passover crowds have gathered
God’s voice distinctly clear
He could have sent a stallion
But that would interfere
With the lowly city entrance
So a donkey makes its mark
So humbly it goes unnoticed
Like impoverished human hearts.
As the people lay down branches
Of fresh palms, they PAVE THE PATH
Not knowing His certain future
Shouts of Praise were not to last.
Oh so calmly amidst the shouting
Does the Son of God proceed
Making His Triumphal Entry
Loud Hosanna’s could not mislead.
From the lips of children…PRAISES
Filled the streets while cloaks were spread
Exaltations, waving branches,
Son of God is God’s living thread
But the Pharisees were jealous,
Struck with fear of the Romans’ whip
So they pleaded to Him… “Teacher
Your disciples are ill equipped,
You must stop them and rebuke them,”
But He spoke with might and power
“If I stop them and rebuke them
Rocks will cry out this very hour!”
