Good Friday
This is an ecumenical worship service with our neighbour churches of St Cuthbert’s Presbyterian, St Paul’s Anglican, and Westdale United.
THE LIFE SEASON OF PERIL
Perils of Facing Crucifixion
To what purpose …
And to what end…
God’s chosen path He would defend
Although His future God revealed
To Father God, He did appeal
A heavy burden, the cross to bear
There was no comfort anywhere
For in His vision, He was not spared.
As darkness found its way so chilling
Throughout the night, His flesh unwilling
With no escape and no release
Raw truth tormenting with unfound peace
And yes, for all, He’d pay the price
He’d sacrifice His sacred life
With stench of sin, His nostrils flared
While others slept, to heaven He stared…
Such PERIL bleak… with no reprieve.
Remove this cup of bitter herbs
Great fear of death, began to surge.
The Son of God, His resting place,
The cross, a symbol of disgrace…
DARK PIERCING VISIONS of PAIN.
Please dull this STAIN OF DARK DESPAIR
With PERIL lurking everywhere
True day of bleakness sets the dawn
Humanity has evil spawned.
As evil slyly lies in wait
A sudden urge to hesitate
With gripping fear!!!
The time has come the time has come
To Crucify God’s only Son
