The Season of Climbing

CLIMBING is difficult
Breaking our path     
Upward and onward
A daunting task
Through forging and plodding
The answer is clear
Our efforts are worth it
Firm answers draw near
With burdens upon us
Our own and our friends’
The summit’s in sight
Only courage to lend
Though footing is slippery
Look up, take a step
Our answers are closer
With each passing breath
Now high on the mountain
With sights on great peaks 
We’ve overcome obstacles
Defeated defeat.
